Canon T1
The Canon T1 has not yet been released to the public. In fact at this point it is merely a rumor that’s been floating around some of the popular photography forums. The Rebel T1 looks to complement the already released Canon T1i. Canon has done this once before with the Canon XS and the XSi Digital SLR’s. The T1 is aimed at the entry level photographer, one who is ready to make their first leap into the world of DSLR’s. Ultimately it will be identical to the T1i just without all of the bells and whistles.
T1 and T1i Comparison
Details are still sketchy at this point, but it looks like the T1 will have a video mode that maxes out at 720P instead of 1080P on the Rebel T1i. It’s also possible that the T1 will come equipped with a slower burst mode, possibly 2 frames per second versus the 3.4 frames per second on the T1i. Build quality and button placement should be identical to the T1i. From everything I’ve heard, the megapixel count will remain the same at 15.1 mp.
Canon Rebel T1 Recommendation
The T1 is like a sports car without all of the options found on the T1i. If you are looking to save a few dollars and the video mode isn’t that important to you, then I would recommend getting the T1. If you need a faster burst mode or 1080P video quality, then I would recommend spending a few more dollars and purchasing the Canon T1i.
